So yesterday I got to meet Kelby's big boy Khan....and I can tell you he is just awesome! He has the sweetest nature, with a hint of a mischevious side!
What an amazing day we had on Sunday, 26 May 2013. SA Guide Dogs held their appreciation day and several guide dogs and of course 1 very special service dog graduated from Guide School! Thanks to Bob Martin all the SAGA dogs sleep with full, satisfied bellies! And of course all the graduated got a bag to go home with.... Khan gave the all important nose test and Bob Martin passes with flying colours! Kelby and her big boy Khan! He really is a rather large labby - but he is the most loving and helpful dog I've ever seen! Here is Kelby with Maxine. After the puppy walker, Khan returned to the centre and was placed in Maxine's expert care. Maxine was responsible for Khan's specialized training and of course she matched Kelby and Khan..... best match ever ! and finally Jenge come through from Pretoria for the day. Khan definitely approves!
So this is Kahn....its just a cell phone picture but it is the very first pic of him! You can be sure that I'll be updating here regularly. Kahn is Kelby's service dogs, she has waited patiently for around 2 years for him and I can already tell that he will be the most loved and adored dog ever! And yes, he is named after Kahn from the Parlotones..... not sure if I'm seeing the resemblance.....
Time is often our worst enemy but also our best friend. At the moment time seems to fly by before I can even blink! When the children were babies and pre-teens life was pretty hectic - school, sports, choir, revue, birthday parties etc etc etc.... I thought that might slow day as they became teenagers - boy was I ever wrong! Now with one a young adult (almost 21) and the other a full-on teen (17 1/5)- life revolves around school, sound & lighting, girlfriend, boyfriend, work, movies, dinner out, friends - old and new - and so on..... beginning to think that I don't have a life anymore! On the plus side I am watching these 2 awesome offspring of mine grow up and mature into 2 strong, able, gentle and totally fantastic young adults... how did I get to be so lucky? As the days fly past I see the choices they are making, mostly good, sometimes missing the mark but overall they are being adults anyone would be very proud to know! I love you 2 more than you coul...
May they have many long and happy years together.
